About Us
Solace is a voluntary organization registered as a Trust under the Charitable Societies Act of Kerala. Children from across Kerala are referred to Solace by various medical colleges, and we provide comprehensive care, both curative and palliative, for them. Our mission is to support children with long-term illnesses and their families, offering strength and comfort as they navigate the difficult realities they face. We truly live alongside them, experiencing their hardships and providing assistance whenever needed.
Founded in 2007 as a Play Therapy Unit next to the Leukemia Ward of the Government Medical College in Thrissur, Solace has grown from helping just 15 children to supporting over 5,000 children today. These children suffer from serious long-term illnesses such as cancer, thalassemia, cerebral palsy, nephrotic syndrome, hemophilia, heart diseases, seizures, Wilson’s disease, developmental delays, juvenile arthritis, epilepsy, hearing loss, and more.
For most families registered with Solace, the impact is profound, with their daily lives centered around caring for their sick child. In many cases, paternal support is limited or absent, leaving mothers to bear the burden alone. Solace steps in to provide essential support, including prescribed medicines and funds for specialized treatments like chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Our goal is to ensure that children with long-term illnesses receive the best possible medical care, giving them the greatest chance to recover and enjoy a high quality of life.

Solace Youth
Solace Youth, a dynamic group of young volunteers, started in 2017 at the Thrissur Solace center. Since then, it has grown to over 1000 volunteers across 10 Solace centers in Kerala.
This revolutionary concept challenges the negative perceptions about the younger generation, focusing on making them aware of and engaged in addressing societal issues.
It successfully instills a belief in the minds of young volunteers that their time and effort are crucial for supporting needy children and their families, becoming a source of comfort for these kids.
Solace Youth is highly involved in various campaigns, consistently active and effective. They excel in home care visits and briefing sessions, where they conduct need assessments.
Interestingly, the young volunteers connect well with the ailing children, who feel more comfortable sharing their problems with them compared to the senior Solace volunteers.
Global Chapters of Solace
Solace Global Chapter is dedicated to helping children with life-threatening illnesses by providing financial, medical, and emotional support. What began in Kerala has grown into a worldwide effort, with chapters across North America, Europe, and beyond.
Our global community of volunteers and donors come together to raise funds, organize events, and spread awareness, ensuring that children and families receive the care they need. From charity galas in the Bay Area to community support in Canada and Seattle, every contribution helps make a difference.
They actively engage in various tasks, including registration of new children, patient care by assisting with medical bills, conducting home visits for understanding living conditions, and participating in SOLACE programs for fundraising.
