Medical Support

The major support given by Solace is medication. We provide monetary support for purchasing medicines and sponsor cost of surgery, when it becomes difficult for the families to finance these on their own. We provide rare medicines too for children suffering from Thalassemia, Nephrotic syndrome, Hormone deficiency and Hepatitis B. For instance, Solace provides Entaliv monthly for children suffering from Hepatitis B and Desirox (250mg and 500mg) for youngsters affected by Thalassemia. Solace provides these medicines as they are unavailable in government hospitals and bears their costs which amount to approximately Rs 50000/- per month.

No patient registered with us who have crossed the age of eighteen are left unsupported .We ensure that they are gradually integrated into society.

We have observed that Govt. Medical Colleges are often unable to fulfill the needs of their patients adequately. Once a patient is registered with Solace, we discuss with their current doctors and other medical experts what the best course could be where medical treatment is concerned after which we ensure through the help of good hearted donors, that the best medical support is provided to the patient. Moreover, Solace also bears the expenses of Ayurvedic as well as homeopathic treatments & medicines. More than 3500 children are being taken care of by Solace with a monthly financial commitment crossing 25 Lakh Rupees.

Social Support

House Rent, support for educating siblings, maintenance of homes, supplying survival food kits are some of the forms of direct support we provide to afflicted households. We also meet the cost of setting up suitable livelihood with provision of appropriate training and tools for mothers who usually shoulder the bulk of the responsibility.

With so much going on, a smooth flow of funds in the form of cash and kind are crucially important. So we gratefully welcome all kinds of contributions all the time.

It could be money, books, clothes, toys etc.

Or it could be a kind word or a great vibrant  idea as to how best we may realise our objectives better.

That objective is summed up by our name: ‘Solace’.

Family Strengthening Program

After a patient is registered, we make it a point to conduct a thorough check up on the medical history and social background of the ailing children and their families. This is to determine the extent, nature and intensity of their needs with Home Care visits by our dedicated volunteers. This helps us ensure that the right sustenance is not only provided but also reaches where it should.

Besides medical aid, we also extend social, financial and psychological care to the ailing children, their caregivers and families. We also conduct family strengthening programs on a monthly basis meant to empower the parents, especially mothers. We also facilitate parents get-together sessions monthly to create self-support groups.
